Canine Rehabilitation
CCAH offers a full service canine rehabilitation program. What is canine rehabilitation? It is the same concept as physical therapy in humans. We use rehabilitation exercises and practices to help animals recover faster after surgery, to improve strength, condition for athletic competitions, avoid injury, as well as relieve pain. It is our belief that any animal, at any stage of life can benefit from a conditioning or rehab program.
Modalities used:
- Laser therapy
- Electical stimulation
- Acupuncture
- Exercise ball
- Manual exercises
- Massage therapy
- Athletic conditioning exercises
Dr. Johnson will perform a full evaluation of your canine friend and put together a comprehensive program to address the problem or problems noted. This could range from simple exercises and conditioning programs to more extensive needs such as Laser therapy, Acupunture and/or electical stimulation sessions. Many of the exercises are designed with the owner in mind. We always encourage owners to be fully involved in the conditioning or rehabiliation process, and many of the exercises will be performed at home by the family. We believe in teamwork at CCAH and have found our canine patients get the best results when everyone is involved.
Do you have a dog who is an athlete? A hunting companion, competes in agility, your mountain bike buddy? All of these activities, and many others, require a dog to be fit and strong to avoid injury or muscular issues. If you have a dog you want to perform at top level or to be able to heal more quickly if they are injured, than I would encourage you to visit with Dr. Johnson and the the staff at CCAH. We can help you condition your dog to be a top athlete, even if he is just a weekend warrior.
